Panic! on the Disco is a pop rock/electronica band based out of Las Vegas, Nevada. The band is made from Brendon Urie (vocals, guitar, keyboard) and his adolescence friend, Spencer Smiths (drums), along side their schoolmate, Ryan Ross (guitar, keyboard, backing vocals).
To advertise their track, the band made contact with Pete Wentz (of Fall Out Boy) using his LiveJournal web site. Impressed by the band, Wentz individually met with the band and signed them to his imprint label Decaydance. Under the label, the band published their debut album, A Fever You Cant Sweat Out, which would debut at #112 at the Billboard 2 hundred album charts.
Featured in Spin journal as their band of the day in early October 2005, attaining #1 on the MySpace chart, and top selling invariably staying in PureVolumes Top 10 chart, would merely aid grow the bands repute. An appearance on MTVs TRL on January 17, 2006, at the most fulfilling of their tune video for I Write Sins Not Tragedies, also helped garner the band a lot publicity.
To date, the bands 2005 debut album, A Fever you Cant Sweat Out has bought over 750,000 units. The band is lately headlining a North American summer season tour with The Dresden Dolls and The Hush Sound, a band also signed to Decaydance.
